THE TERRITORY
FINOCCHI VITICOLTORI
SStaffolo is located in the Marche region on a hill spine at Mt. 442 above sea level. Its open position allows a unique view to the North-East reaching the Adriatic Sea and the South-West looks at the crown of the Apennines dominated by the unique shape of Mount San Vicino.
For its 360-degree view, Staffolo is called the "Balcony of the Vallesina." Rolling hills surround it, where the vineyards paint the territory. These hills so exposed and slightly ventilated are the happiest areas for vine flourishing and for the production of best grapes, which in these parts and since ancient origins, are the Verdicchio grapes, native vines expressing here their best features.
The brightness and the warmth of the sun allow the grapes to express a strong character and delicate fragrances, essential for obtaining good wines. It 's understandable why Staffolo is also called "Hill of the Verdicchio."A note of relevance is that Staffolo does not have "one Verdicchio". Its many "Verdicchi's", based on as many districts its territory has, are all capable of expressing an identical Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico, but with different nuances and shades.
